Dyslexia Screen Tests for Children
Dyslexia Screen Tests do not diagnose dyslexia but identify the possibility of having dyslexia. This test provides a full profile of strengths and weaknesses which provides a useful guide to recommend strategies and interventions tailored towards your child's individual needs. The test will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and a Dyslexia Screening Report will follow consisting of background information, results of the testing and recommendations to support the child at both school and at home.
Dyslexia Screen Tests for Adults
Dyslexia Screen Tests do not diagnose dyslexia but identify the possibility of having dyslexia. This test provides a profile of strengths and weaknesses which can be used to guide the intervention training strategies for the individual both in higher education or the workplace. The test will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and a Dyslexia Screening Report with results and recommendations will be completed within two weeks. (You will need a full diagnostic assessment if you are applying for Disability Student Allowance).
Both tests can also form the first steps in deciding whether a full diagnostic assessment is warranted.
Any dyslexia screen tests will be administered and assessed by qualified dyslexia specialists.
Full Diagnostic Report
A detailed written report consisting of recommendations for support. This will be completed within two weeks of the actual assessment. The report will also be written so that various parties can identify information useful to them; Teachers, lecturers, parents, teaching assistants, educational psychologists and employers.
The assessment takes between three to four hours with breaks and can be completed in two sittings if necessary. The tests are able to pick out strengths as well as weaker areas for support and will highlight strategies to improve learning and working methods
All tests are standardised and so provide evidence of their performance relative to the norm.
As Assessors of Specific Learning Difficulties we are able to assess and identify other possible learning differences and refer on to the appropriate specialist. These may include:
Tutoring
We are offering private tuition to children, students and adults with specific learning difficulties and dyslexia concerns. We will tailor tutoring sessions and support according to the individual's difficulties and consider different approaches to learning. Our team can offer support in basic skills such as reading, writing and spelling as well as teaching study skills to support with G.C.S.E's, A' Levels, Diplomas and Degrees. Providing we can establish the individual's difficulties and their preferred learning styles we can support the student by teaching strategies so they can find ways to overcome their difficulties and learn to work independently. We are happy to liaise with the school and employers if necessary.
